Gemma Nostra: Reunion 2008

Several of us observed and passively participated in the activation ceremony of four pledges who had just endured hell week. The ritual and ceremony brought back a flood of memories and we definitely felt a reconnection to the fraternal side of our Beta experience.

The old Frat House looks the same from the outside although it is dwarfed by the new Law School Building. Inside it is old, tired and in need of a complete renovation.

Len and Bills, the Club LB, "The Friendliest Neighborhood Bar".  This was the perfect frat guys bar back in the late 60's before fashionable places like The Great Divide appeared. This was as regular a place as could be with working guys from the afternoon shift coming straight from the Gates Rubber factory getting boozed up with the Betas who arrived early evening starting Thursdays. It is, unbelievably, more seedy than when we left but it does still have our "72 Frat picture hanging, center, over the bar where it has resided for the last 36 years.
